Hello since long time
I hope you’re well. Im in Cambridge heading to the Polar museum, feeding my current interest in exploration.
All good – find me on BBC radio 2 each Monday 9pm with the blues show: playing blues in many forms- Tuareg, European, folk, jazz , rock and acoustic.. Last night CJ Chenier joined me- an accomplished musician himself, and son of the King of Zydeco, designer of the frottoir, Mr Clifton Chenier.
Am still sound weaving on a Sunday too on BBC 6 Music- from 10-1pm expect :
old field recordings, sounds of the natural world, voices of now deceased actors and poets, new music in a huge palate of languages and styles, classics and underplayed nuggets and a huge variety of guests covering disciplines and subjects as disparate as I can – guest scientists have taken us through the earths stratospheres , and down through to middle of the world. Ive welcomed
astronauts,(Helen Sharman+Tim Peak) UK’s first female vascular surgeon ( Averil Mansfield), actors ( Claire Foy and Johnny Depp) to
the David Attenborough of sound recordings Martyn Stewart , wombats, butt music, food ,action and great new books.
More news to come, Am off to see Shackleton and Scott’s doodles of penguins,
