Britain’s first cafe run by children for children – coming to the Good Life Experience this year

Cerys Matthews

My album of Welsh Folk Music – Tir – was the inspiration for Ballet Cymru choreographers Darius James and Amy Doughty, who have used 11 of the songs from the album to create a unique work especially for their dancers.

Project Occupation: Five songs that shook the world, explores the potent vocal expression of public protest – music and song. Five different composers from five diverse musical genres will create new songs in response to contemporary acts of protest or current news as they happen across the world during November 2014 – January 2015.

Cerys awarded an honorary degree from Swansea University

Cerys Matthews

I was proud and happy to be presented an honorary degree from Swansea University in July 2014, especially having worked closely with Swansea on their Dylan Thomas Prize competition as a judge that year.

I lived in Swansea for my formative years from 8-18 and being recognised and honoured like this was really special.
