This album is absolutely fantastic in Cerys’ native tongue and to my mind is even more beautiful and powerful than the English version (which is a corker in its own right.) People listen to classical music and opera without understanding a word and I think if they try this album they will be swept away in just the same way.
You don’t need to be able to speak Welsh to appreciate the melodic beauty of Cerys Matthews voice and songs on this album. The songs, without exception, are all beautiful and hypnotic and Ms Matthews unique voice certainly adds to this. I would certainly recommend this album to anyone, Welsh speaker or not.
