BBC RADIO 2 NEWS

I’m delighted to let you know that I’ll be permanently joining BBC Radio 2 from May, hosting a live blues show each Monday 8-9pm . I’ll take over from the mighty Paul Jones, who will be leaving the network, and I’m grateful to him for passing on the baton. It’s a dream come true to be able to play the music that inspires me on Radio 2 and I look forward to playing tracks by blues legends like Memphis Minnie, John Lee Hooker , Lightnin’ Hopkins , Jo Ann Kelly and Peter Green , and bands like the Rolling Stones , the Groundhogs, White Stripes and Black Keys. Each week we’ll be diving into the vast archive of the BBC unearthing long lost gems and interviews, and also play some of the best new releases and emerging artists steeped in this genre, the cradle of jazz and rock ‘n roll.

I hope you’ll be able to join me: the first show airs Monday , May 14th at 8pm.
Love as always,

Cerys

PS My regular Sunday slot will continue over on BBC 6 music every Sunday- 10am-1pm
